Government marriage records for Keweenaw County start in 1867.  Prior to that marriage records are in Houghton Co. The records are available on film, or from the County Clerk.  Other places to obtain records are churches, newspaper announcements and articles.

Important Note: It is best to check all the sources available. While transcribing the county records I have noted that the state has records the county does not have and the county has records the state does not have. Remember that the county records are also turned into the state so there may be more transcriptions errors. The county received theirs from the township, ministers, judges and family members, so there may be errors in their records also. The original marriage record at townships, ministers, judges, etc. are very hard to obtain as many have been lost in various ways over time.
